This series consists of an album of newspaper clippings relating to the Darwin Municipal Council election in 1957. Peter Spillett won the office of Councillor for Stuart in these elections. The clippings include: "Local Government Terms Accepted" (2/7/1956) reporting the meeting where Darwin residents accepted the principle of local government for Darwin; a biographical article about Peter Spillett, "A Stuart Candidate: Peter Gerald Spillett"; and, the public notice giving details of the candidates elected to each office.
